Saturday Reading
by Mr Credit CardIf you are surfing over here on a Saturday night, then why not check out these cool post (all credit cards related).
Question: Should you leave home without your credit card? Well, this massage therapist tried doing it and guess what her advice is?
M recently got 5 free nights at Starwood Hotel for her honeymoon – thanks to her Starwood credit card. We have written a lot about how great the Starwood credit card is and here is another great example. Having said all that, it looks like M is not the traveling sort and has decided to get a new credit card! Find out which one is it? (hint: we do recommend this card here).
Mrs A is trying to get rid of her debt on her credit card. My sense is that she is in the final stretch. But it’s good to check in on her progress.
Credit card issuers love to tease consumers with 0% APR for purchase to get new sign ups. I know friends who have fixed a new deck with 0% credit cards! And then even transfer the balance when the intro period ran out! Well, aside from renovating your house, there are other ways to use 0% deals to finance stuff, like perhaps a lovely new comfy matress! I would actually make sure you already have the money and just use the 0% as a cash flow management tool.
And finally, I’ve saved the best for last. Brad Chafee used to be absolutely anti credit cards. In fact, he got really upset about a post we did (which we referred to him)! But since then, he has appeared on our radio show and recently, he has come around to accept that credit cards aren’t what gets folks into debt. He has written an excellent post about who should use them and the answer really depends on your state of your mind towards your finances!
